Janet Posted November 8, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 8, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have tried Silvanos to do a high res scan with processing but they are not high res, Which Lab will do E-6 or C-41 and a High Res Scan in Toronto area or Ontario Area. By huge res I mean 4,00 dpi at the time of processing at a reasonable cost. I now have to do these individually at a very high cost. I do not have the time or patience to get my own scanner. Any help is appreciated.
Advertisement Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Hi Janet, Take a look here High Res scan and develop in Toronto? Where?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
firststream Posted November 8, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 8, 2009 I don't know to what resolution Vistek scans negatives, but judging from the prices they charge, I would say it is high-end. They're on Queen St., just west of the Don River. Vistek is Canada's Digital Camera Store, Shop for Digital SLRs, Digital Cameras, Video Cameras and more - Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Canada
4X5B&W Posted November 9, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 9, 2009 Janet, you should check out Toronto Image Works on Spadina, they not only do E6 and C41, but also have an Imacon scanner that will do exceptional high res. scans. Not sure about the pricing. David K.
Janet Posted November 9, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted November 9, 2009 I tried Vistek they use a fuji frontier and it does not scan big , only for web postings. The pints at 10x15 are scanned higher but then you are buying a print and that is $10 per print. further you do not ever get the high res scan with the print I tried Image Works and they charge $15 per image on the Imacon. Colourgenics wants more and BGM wants more. Henry's uses Silvano as their supplier. I am frustrated with this city. I am looking for maybe $20 for a roll of 36. I men 4,000 DPI. Michael Hiles Posted November 9, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 9, 2009 There is also a place called Elevator Digital Elevator Professional Photographic Lab. I have not used them but their web site looks very good. They also do Cibachrome from scans using a Durst laser printer.
