carlosecpf Posted November 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 7, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all! Excited by the D2 make overs I've seen in this forum, I've sent my beloved D2 to Morgan (cameraleather.com). According to USPS the item arrived 2 weeks ago and so far I have not hear anything back from Morgan. I've sent several emails and he has not replied a single one. He was very responsive during the sales process, but not after getting my camera. Right now his silence worries me a lot. Does anyone here has Morgan's telephone number? Thanks in advance! daveleo Posted November 8, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 8, 2009 hello there i had a similar experience with Morgan .... he is not the world's greatest communicator. some e-mails he answered the same day, some took 10 days for his response. i don't know the guy, but i would not worry a lot just yet..... he never answered my last e-mail.... just sent my finished camera to me, and it was beautiful. i also believe that he reads this forum now and then. John Thawley Posted November 8, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 8, 2009 hello there i had a similar experience with Morgan .... he is not the world's greatest communicator. Tru-Dat. LOL And then one day, your cameras show up and you're happy. He must be a tempermental artist. Have faith. I couldn't be happier. And would do it all over again. farnz Posted November 8, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 8, 2009 Carlos, Check that Morgan's email hasn't been put into your spam email folder. My D2 is with Morgan now too and he's been pretty responsive to my emails. Pete.
carlosecpf Posted November 9, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted November 9, 2009 Thanks guys for sharing your experience with me. I will keep on hoping to get my D2 back safe and sound!

He was very responsive before I've sent him my D2. After he received it, he simply disappeared and became unreachable. I am hoping for the best. marknorton Posted November 9, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 9, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Morgan is fine, he may be on vacation, or sick, or just overloaded. I doubt very much he's seen fit to take off to South America to live off the proceeds of a rebadged Panasonic...
carlosecpf Posted November 10, 2009 Author Share #8 Posted November 10, 2009 Morgan is fine, he may be on vacation, or sick, or just overloaded. I doubt very much he's seen fit to take off to South America to live off the proceeds of a rebadged Panasonic... I've never doubted that Morgan is a honest guy, otherwise I would not send my D2 and pay in advance. I was just concerned that something happened to him, because where I come from it is not normal not replying a paying customer email in almost 20 days. Since cameraleather is a guy and not a company, if something happens to him, it would be almost impossible to retrieve the camera back. Just that. I guess I got spoiled by Luigi Crescenzi's customer service.
Moucheter Posted November 10, 2009 Share #9 Posted November 10, 2009 I guess I got spoiled by Luigi Crescenzi's customer service. You are absolutely right!!! I just order a rally full case for my M8.2 on Saturday and receive it in Montreal, Canada on Thursday. What a perfectionnist! I will soon post pictures of my M8.2. Good luck and keep us updated. carlosecpf Posted December 7, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted December 7, 2009 Last email I got from Morgan was on Nov 13 and he said: "Carlos, Thanks, I should be done with it later today. Thanks, Morgan" Since then, the camera has not arrived and I didn't get any reply more than 6 emails I've sent him. I've already missed the Thanksgiving holidays and I am really worried I won't have it back before Christmas and New Years holiday... If anyone has his phone number, it would be great if you could share it with me!!
farnz Posted December 7, 2009 Share #11 Posted December 7, 2009 Carlos, I got a similar message on 23 November, which said "Just finishing up your camera now. The other kit will be included in the parcel. I will follow up with you tomorrow." No camera or contact since either. Pete.
daveleo Posted December 7, 2009 Share #12 Posted December 7, 2009 hello again i don't have the phone number, but i am fairly upset here because i did highly recommend their work based on my two experiences with Morgan. so .... i took the liberty just now to send Morgan an e-mail that read as follows ... .......................................................................................................................................... Morgan You are getting some bad press over at the Leica forum. here is a link to the topic: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-forum/105246-camera-leather-contact-info.html my only interest here is that i recommended you on that forum. other than that, i don't know a thing about this specific issue, but i would personally like to see it resolved, and i am sure so would others. please excuse my intrusion into this affair, but like i said, i (and several other people) recommended your work to that forum. regards, dave leo ................................................................................................................................... Carlos, i hope this intrusion of mine does not harm your situation ..... i want to believe that the holidays have just made those guys fall behind int their work. carlosecpf Posted December 7, 2009 Author Share #13 Posted December 7, 2009 Hi Dave, Thank you so much for trying to help me with this issue. I really appreciate it. I understand Morgan is busy and might take his time to do a perfect job. Also I am assuming he didn't face any serious personal problems lately (I've recently read some posts in other forums where people are telling that they just got their cameras back from Cameraleather). Nevertheless, I am really disappointed with the complete lack of communication of this company with its customers. It's almost disrespectful, specially with customers that pay in advance. If Morgan knows he cannot answer all the emails and requests he gets in a timely fashion, he should at least set the expectation from the beginning, by including a disclaimer in his website about his timing issues. Please let me know if he ever gets back to you. Because I was a good boy during the year, I am still hoping to get the camera before xmas! Thanks again for going out of your way to help a fellow forum member.
carlosecpf Posted December 7, 2009 Author Share #14 Posted December 7, 2009 Dave, You are THE man. Just got two (!!) emails from Morgan right now: one asking me for my address and the second one saying he will send me some pictures of my D2 later today! Thanks a LOT again for helping me with this matter! I guess I will get my camera before xmas!

carlosecpf Posted January 5, 2010 Author Share #16 Posted January 5, 2010 Hi Philippe, This was a happy ending story. The camera arrived before xmas and I used it shoot during the holidays. The camera is beautiful!! REALLY! You can see some pictures in this thread that I have opened right after getting the camera: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-forum/109418-she-back-she-leather-i-am.html
Azor Posted January 5, 2010 Share #17 Posted January 5, 2010 an alternative in future (since Morgan tends to be busy) is to buy the DIY kit. Once u get it in the mail (ETA 1-2mths) you can then fix it up yourself. Risk to u ? Minimal. Can we fix it ? Bob the builder says Yes u can.
menos I M6 Posted January 13, 2010 Share #18 Posted January 13, 2010 I second the DIY kit from Morgan. I ordered one for my EPSON R-D1 (Morgan took a lot of effort and patience to help me, find a satisfactory material - great service). Morgan shipped on the same day, as I did the money transfer! Surely, this was exceptional and one should not expect that and always immediate answer of mails and alike. With such a one man show running, just give him some time and trust, so he can sort his work load out and you get what you paid for. I am happy, to do business again with Morgan. Because of the molded memory card and connection port doors on the DIgilux 2, I don't believe a DIY kit is available. JT
