Mike Rawcs Posted November 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I first heard of Luigi Crescenzi here on the Leica Forum, so I thought you may like to share my experience of dealing with him. As many of you know, Luigi makes hand stitched case and straps for, predominately, Leica cameras. I ordered a hand (wrist) strap with red stitching from Luigi and two days later received by Fed-ex my strap - only it was a shoulder strap. I e-mailed Luigi and he was full of apology for the mistake and said that he would post the hand strap to me straight away. I replied that I was so pleased with the shoulder strap that I would keep it instead of the hand strap (I could always wrap the strap around my arm, right?). Well, yesterday I received from Luigi the hand strap that I originally ordered! I really like it: but Luigi must be out of pocket, so I e-mailed him and asked him to let me know what I owed him. he replied that I owed him nothing! So if you want quality goods with exemplary service - see Luigi. Mike.

razerx Posted November 8, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 8, 2009 Luigi does have very good customer service. I have bought many of his cases and he does try to make up for his errors. Here are some examples: ordered a case for Contax IIa but he send me one for Nikon RF. He tells me I cannot send it back due to oppressively taxing communist customs at his country but will give me a discount on next order. So I must buy another case. Ordered a case for M with Tom A Rapidwiner but he sends me a case that fits an M with Leicavit. Same story as before. Cannot return due to communists running the country; discount on next order only. Next I ordered 3 cases for Leica screwmount bodies. They arrived but all have fitting problems such as not having enough clearance for the tab on most LTM lenses. Again no returns due to communists so I had to cut out leather myself so lenses can mount. Discount on next order. I would say after so many order about a third had such problems. However they indeed are very nice cases, enough for me to keep taking chances.
lagrassa Posted November 11, 2009 Share #6 Posted November 11, 2009 I ordered an aged brown strap for my IIIc and it arrived in two days via FedEx. Luigi is a craftsman and a gentleman who stands by what he makes/sells. Very high quality and worth the price in my opinion.
John Thawley Posted November 12, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 12, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Luigi is GREAT. And what I love about his straps is from the day they arrive they feel as if you've owned them all your life. There's a natural elasticity to the leather that can't be described unless you've worn one. They're great! JT

I like straps longer than usual and Luigi made me one that is perfect, and which I would not replace with anything else. I do use circular split rings rather than the Leica connector. Nothing on a circle that could scratch anything.

Nothing on a circle that could scratch anything. I got my strap with the leather "protectors" that sit between the camera lugs and the split rings. No chance of any ring contact with the body.
