I've had 2 M8s in heavy professional use since November '06 and this is the first time I've heard there's a problem with the powerswitch [sic]. But then I suppose the real agenda was luring people to hit your rather crude copy of the Thumbs-Up, ;)

That grip would seem to be a patent infringement on Tim Isaac's design.

On the power switch issue, I think there must be quite a variance from one camera to another. My original M8 has a very secure switch that does not move easily from one position to another. In more than 2 1/2 years, I have never inadvertently moved it out of position.

Most of the posts of hetoog are about bad copy cat grips. Would that be for a financial advantage or just ignorance?

The design of the switch is bad, a lot of people hate it. I'm happy for the users that have no problems.

I'm just trying to share some improvements on the M8 and 9, people ask me how to order. It's not that i'am trying to sell the grip i've made, i'm more happy taking pictures than sawing aluminum, if you like it DIY.

Best regards.

I have a black M8 which is fine. The switch on my chrome M8 is a pain, it seems to change position of it's own accord. I wouldn't say it's a major issue but it is certainly annoying. Both cameras were bought new and the chrome one has seen very little use as I only got it as a backup.

Apart from that one small issue both have performed without problems, says he touching wood.
