Ecaton Posted November 28, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 28, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) since mid October am a satisfied owner of a d-lux 3. a great P&S camera to always carry with you.however, despite its qualities it has its shortcomings and I am considering buying the v-lux 1 as well. has anyone experience how the two compare as far as output quality is concerned, contrast, sharpness, colours, saturation, noise etc? or would the right step be to jump to the digilux3 directly, if image quality matters most? (understand the pros and cons of weight, cost, ) I appreciate your input.

jaapv Posted November 28, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 28, 2006 You should buy the last LFI; there is an extensive comparison there.
Tenor1 Posted November 28, 2006 Share #3 Posted November 28, 2006 Here's a comparison of the V-Lux and the Pany LX-1 (similar to the D-Lux 2), which I own. IMO, the V produces a nicer printed picture but has tradeoffs with the weight and bulk. We considered the D-Lux 3 as the second camera but decided to go with the V because of it's lens versitility. That's the same difference with the Digi-Lux 3 and the V-Lux. I don't own a Digi-Lux 3 but would say it produces a slightly better picture than the D-Lux 3 and also the V-Lux. It's a lot more money than the V-Lux but doesn't have that great zoom lens. It depends on your use or needs. An option I would consider is getting the V-Lux then eventually trading the D-Lux 3 for the Digi-Lux 3. It's tough call because I would want to keep all three, lol. Keep us posted with your decision and WHY you made it! Regards, Carlos
