My recommendation is to hold on to the MP, a great camera indeed as are all the film M's, buy an M9 and take a class in nude photography to keep you young.

LOL! I'm with Frank!

Don't worry about what will happen after you're dead, it won't trouble you in the least then.

Dump the MP and get the M9 if you really want it. Have fun.

After the next phase of the economic crash that's coming, you can buy back MPs by the carload cheap if you have any money left.

Your children will put your stuff in the garbage can or sell it on eBay before you're cold. If your son is a doctor, he can buy what he wants after you're dead, he doesn't need your old cameras.

And if you don't drop dead soon, the M9 will be worthless and obsolete in a few years. Get what you want and enjoy it now.

Any second, you could get apoplexy and turn into a drooling vegetable, so have fun with the camera you want now before it's curtains for you.

Very silly to agonize over an expensive toy.

Thanks for all the wisdom, guys. Yeah, I'm getting to M9 now, or as soon as Dales can deliver, darn it. Thanks be to having bought some gold three years ago. Finance your own M9 with gold bought NOW. It will go much higher. The dollar, like all fiat currencies, will go to its intrinsic value eventually -- ZERO. It's just PAPER. Indeed, an M9 now, if we do get a big ramp in inflation, will be as good as gold for a while anyway. And a LOT more expensive, in dollar terms, a year from now.

Actuarial tables show that you will live another 18.91 years. By that time, the M9 will be an ancient relic and film will be hard to find and even harder to get processed. Buy it now, use it, enjoy it and forget about passing it or the MP along to your son.

You are right about that.

Gold hit $1090 today, and that's just kid stuff compared to what's coming.

Buy the M9 and have fun.

If you want something different fun and can afford it then get a M9 along with your film body. But remember when your son inherit it, he will not like the M9 as there will be M16 etc on the market.

You say your son will never shoot film but hey, I was an example of not liking film for at least 5 years before last year. Im 22 now. So you never know. Just that we dont know how long film is there for:cool:

I have to say I will turn 58 on 12/24/09 and understand what Andalus is saying. Out of my small group of friends two are gone one at the age of 42 other died at 56. We are all High school buddies. I am older than both of them. I can no longer think that I can double my age at 58 I would be 116 that aint going to happen. When I was 40 sure might hit 80.

I sold my MP and have a M9 on order. My son is into the digital age and hate to say it likes digital cameras more than film. But has used both. I plan on bugging him well into my 90's maybe even older and remember I can alway take pictures of some hot nurses in the nursing home when I hit 100

Cheers Jan
