JeffreyTotaro Posted October 31, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 31, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I recently lost the little box my 28mm Voigtlander finder came in and I am also considering the Zeiss 21mm VF (does not come with a pouch) once the M9 gets here. I'd keep using the 28 (now for the 28 2.8) since I wear glasses and the 28 framelines are tough to see and it takes away that extra rangefinder view we all like. I'll also carry the 15mm VF for the Cv 15mm. The silly question is, what do you carry your VFs in? I've been looking for a small multi-pocket pouch or something like that but all seem too big for a AA camera bag.

luigi bertolotti Posted October 31, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 31, 2009 Imho, the best is to have small cases that can be attached to camera strap: don't know if they can be easily found, but I have a pair of old Leitz small leather cases originally made for the 5cm finder: it can accomodate well my 21 and 28 finders (for 15 - 21 on M8) : very easy to take on the finders, and you always remember where they are. johnbuckley Posted October 31, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 31, 2009 Not silly at all! I just lost mine outdoors somewhere, dammit!
arnold kaufman Posted October 31, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 31, 2009 Leica makes a small felt pouch for the D- Lux 4 24mm finder. I am sure there must be a Leica part no. I am using the pouch to carry the finder. I think it is perfect for what you are looking for. Arnold
lars_bergquist Posted November 1, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 1, 2009 I carry my accessory finders in a Billingham Small Hadley. It has space enough for a camera body and a couple of extra lenses too. The old man from the Age of the Benser Case
Nicoleica Posted November 1, 2009 Share #6 Posted November 1, 2009 If you hunt around at jumble sales, flea markets, or even in that wonderland of obscure old parts and accessories that most good camera shops tend to keep in a box or drawer somewhere, you should be able to find an old leather filter case that will suit your viewfinder. (Another option might be the cases for 'add-on' lenses for fixed-lens cameras.) Most of these have loops for fitting on a camera strap. You might even be really lucky, and find a proper viewfinder case as mentioned by Luigi.
lars_bergquist Posted November 1, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I do have one original case for a plastic-type Leica finder. But I have two such finders (24 and 28mm) and a Zeiss finder, and I do like some protection for the finders even when in he bag. My solution is simple pouches made out of suede, actually the leather that is for washing cars. They have no closures, they are just deep enough so that I can fold them over. Works just fine. wattsy Posted November 1, 2009 Share #8 Posted November 1, 2009 what do you carry your VFs in? I've an 18 month old daughter. I just nick one of her old socks if I need a 'case' for something like an accessory finder.

bill Posted November 1, 2009 Share #10 Posted November 1, 2009 Jeffrey, think laterally...! If you have multiple viewfinders, and especially at this time of year, have a hunt around gents' outfitters and similar for a cufflink case. These come in various sizes, but you can usually find one designed for travelling that will hold 4 to 6 sets. They are made of leather and are ideal, having small well-constructed compartments. lars_bergquist Posted November 1, 2009 Share #11 Posted November 1, 2009 Ah, cuff links ... those were the days. Many happy non-returns of them. The old man from the Age of the Bespoke Suit
