I wish I could have made it this year.

One thing to also bear in mind is that we spend more time socialising than actually taking photographs for the competition. It's as much, if not more, of a social event than anything else and a great chance to put faces to names.

So cameras made from 1952 to 2009, not bad.

Actually, the spread could be a bit wider. My own IIIf has an early serial number from a batch made between 1950 - 51. On this basis, it probably predates me .... just.

Good to see the excellent representation by film, much as I like digital.

I have just voted for Venice, although that was a hard one, as Barcelona is very appealing, too. I really do like to attend next year. Following Rolo's suggestion, I could even drive to Venice in a minibus. Hell, I could do it in a normal car :).

From a photographic point of view, Venice is about as good as it gets (sorry Wetzlar!).

Cheers,

Andy

I can only join in recommending the One Challenge. It is competitive enough to make it interesting, but still fun, nobody is too serious about it. I also have the impression the limitations are sharpening one's view. It is one of the best photographic exercises I know.

Thinking about it, I can't remember discussing photography during dinner...

Of course I know you two will be there if at all possible. But we usually get less than 20 competitors. My hope this time is that more of the voters will actually take the trouble to come along instead of just mindlessly voting , just because there's a poll.

Perhaps we need to think about this further for next year. There must be people who have voted who have no intention of every joining the Challenge.

Maybe if I made the poll not anonymous (nonymous?), we would only get serious voters?
