If you're currently investing a small fortune in an M9, do you give any thought to what may happen on 10/10/10? This question just popped into my head a moment ago - thought I'd give it wings on here
Advertisement Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Hi Brent1965, Take a look here So, what's going to happen on 10/10/10?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
noah_addis Posted October 25, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 25, 2009 The way things are going, some people will still be waiting for their M9! Seriously, I don't care what happens on 10/10, though I suspect it will be nothing. It's unlike Leica to come out with a new product every year, especially not one worthy of a full-digit upgrade. The M9 was enough of an upgrade from the M8 to make it worth the switch to me. And many others have made that choice as well. The full-frame sensor and larger files made it worth it for me. But the M9 is now good enough that I don't think a small incremental upgrade will be enough to make me want to buy a new camera. I plan to use my M9s for at least three years and hopefully five. Jager Posted October 25, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 25, 2009 What Noah said. Leica introduced the M9 almost exactly 3 years after the M8. I think it will be at least two years - and probably closer to three - before we see the M10.

Marty Posted October 26, 2009 Share #8 Posted October 26, 2009 do you give any thought to what may happen on 10/10/10? This very thought keeps me awake at night. I have already outgrown my M9. The pixelcount simply isn't acceptable for close-up billboards anymore, no out-of-the-box underwater support, no pop-up flash umbrella, no sensor wipers, and most importantly why do we still have no reliable autofocus? Worst thing is, 2010 is just around the corner and I can't believe we are not hearing official word about the M10 from Leica yet!
