bgreig Posted October 29, 2009 Share #21 Posted October 29, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a small Amphipod case. Neophrene, with one pocket that can carry one or more extra batteries and one for the camera. Super light weight, while well padded. Belt loop on back. I also have the leather Leica case, but the Amphipod is smaller, minimalist even, and easier to "wear."
Advertisement Posted October 29, 2009 Posted October 29, 2009 Hi bgreig, Take a look here How Do You Carry Your D-Lux 4?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ho_co Posted October 29, 2009 Share #22 Posted October 29, 2009 Hadn't heard of "Amphipod." I see a couple units at REI that might work--which particular model are you using?
bgreig Posted October 30, 2009 Share #23 Posted October 30, 2009 Here is a link to the model I have: Amphipod Rapid Access Pouches - Bounce-free, moisture protected pouches with AirFlow mesh breathability. Mine is 6" across at the widest point, so it must be the large size. I bought it at a local outdoor store. Brian
kalina Posted October 30, 2009 Share #24 Posted October 30, 2009 I have a small M-Rock case with long strap that I originally bought for my Panasonic LX3, but then I sold it and bought a D-Lux 4. The D-Lux 4 is a bit snug in this case with all the bling I have on it, namely, the Ricoh LC1 cap and the Franiec handgrip.
paulpp Posted October 30, 2009 Share #25 Posted October 30, 2009 Have just bought the Lowepro Terraclime 100. Really pleased with it and although bigger than needed for a D-Lux 4 means I can also carry other items an/or a different camera, without the total being too large. rjsplace Posted November 1, 2009 Share #26 Posted November 1, 2009 I bought a Sony Case at Wally World as it seemed to have what I needed. I put a Leica patch over the sony logo. Why I liked this 10.00 case other then the price was the D4 fits in it with a lens adapter attached .It has two other zippered compartments one where I keep the Memory cards which there is a spot for them. Also there is enough room for a spare battery. The other zippered section will hold a 52mm lens filter in a case. SO I can switch from the UV on the lens adapter with any other filter of choice. The case has carrying straps and a snap button that makes it easy to install on the belt. However not completely trusting the snap I also use a snap clip availble at all hardware stores usually for 1.00 and attach that to the cases loop and my belt buckle.I recently picked up a Yashica finder and that stores in the compartment where the extra battery could go. So I get to carry everything with me that i need in this compact case.
ho_co Posted November 2, 2009 Share #27 Posted November 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) rj, it sounds as if the Sony case does just what you want. And the price is right! I've run into a couple bargains at Walmart, but often they're closeouts and gone the next time I go back. Do you have a picture or a model number? I've tried several for the camera with its accessories, but I'm not really happy with them, and I'm still looking for a compact belt case that might do better than the Zing case I mentioned above. So I'm always curious about what works for someone else.
K I Posted November 4, 2009 Share #28 Posted November 4, 2009 Sling it around the shoulder in a criss cross fashion using the supplied strap or brown/black case... Very cool this way. See how Seal wore his M at the M9 video webcast... KI
regedit Posted November 5, 2009 Share #29 Posted November 5, 2009 I like to keep my d-lux 4 naked, with a bower heavy duty strap http://u1.ipernity.com/11/85/40/5088540.f453d435.1024.jpg
