Advertisement Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 Hi marcg, Take a look here When Lightroom ver.3.00 goes gold - free upgrades from ver.2.XX?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
spylaw4 Posted October 24, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 24, 2009 Have a look at this thread. Personally I think that you'll have to pay, based on Adobe's past practice. Leica will probably continue to ship M9 with LR2.5. This is a shame as judging by the videos LR3 is a considerable improvement.
Jager Posted October 24, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 24, 2009 Nope. You'll have to pay Adobe's upgrade price (which will be discounted over the original purchase rice). The one question that remains is if you don't use your license key until after ver 3 is released - in that case perhaps you won't be charged. That would be great for those of us who already have a licensed copy of LR and for which the key provided by Leica is redundant. We'll see.

I'd not thought of this - and hadn't downloaded my copy of LR yet... I may hold off now and just stick with the copy I'd bought earlier...
Marty Posted October 24, 2009 Share #5 Posted October 24, 2009 That would be the first time I see that an unused license key for one major version is also valid for the next... In fact perhaps it's time someone confirmed there will still be a v2/2.5 LR to download once v3 becomes mainstream?
viramati Posted October 24, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 24, 2009 on the adobe site it says the beta version is running until april 2010 so it might be a long wait --------------------- Zenfolio | David Sampson Photography
marcg Posted October 25, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted October 25, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) And once ver.3.00 goes gold, will the LR deal still be available and will it apply to ver.3 or be restricted to ver.2.
wattsy Posted October 25, 2009 Share #8 Posted October 25, 2009 will the LR deal still be available and will it apply to ver.3 or be restricted to ver.2.5 The M9 will have to ship with some kind of raw conversion software. Being a download rather than a boxed copy, it would be weird if Leica continued to supply LR 2.5 when LR3 becomes officially available. I haven't taken advantage of the bundled LR yet - does anyone know if it is downloaded from a Leica or Adobe server?
