ahdouglas Posted October 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I was out taking pictures this afternoon and experienced the locking up or disappearing of the split image in view finder several times. I had to push the lense release button and rotate the lense back and forth to get it visable again. Should the camera be sent in for repair? Any help greatly appreicated. Advertisement Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Hi ahdouglas, Take a look here M8 split image. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted October 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 22, 2009 Are you sure you weren't accidentally covering the rangefinder window with your finger or strap or something?
Guest mc_k Posted October 22, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 22, 2009 I just had this happen to me. Now the rangefinder is out of alignment at infinity. I would check that, and also try another lens. What lens did you have on? I'm sure someone here with more experience will be able to help you.
stunsworth Posted October 22, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 22, 2009 The split image has nothing to do with how the lens is mounted. You had your finger over the small rangefinder window.
Guest mc_k Posted October 22, 2009 Share #5 Posted October 22, 2009 what exactly do you mean by locking up?
Guest mc_k Posted October 22, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 22, 2009 I think if the roller slips off the cam for some reason the two images will "lock up." Sounds like maybe you meant something else.
ahdouglas Posted October 23, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted October 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looks like I had my finger or the strap in the way of the viewfinder window. Was able to recreate the effect this evening. Thanks everyone for responding.
