PhotoArchival Posted November 26, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 26, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) My wifes employee invited us to her girlfriends dragKING show. Opposite of what a dragQUEEN show is. Brought along my trusty CM and captured these shots. This is my first experience shooting in this type of environment (theater), so would appreciate any comments or feedback. leicamann Posted November 26, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 26, 2006 Ditto, enjoyable series The last ones seem to come off best in this very difficult lighting situation. Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann
dav Posted November 27, 2006 Share #7 Posted November 27, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think the shots are awesome, and considering the conditions, they are awesome ++. I like the enrgy, the composition, and the color. Clearly you were close to the stage, but able to stop action with amzing clarity. A testament to your capabilities and that of the camera and film. Thank you for sharing.
fotografr Posted November 27, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 27, 2006 These are very nicely done, though a couple look like they suffered some overexposure. I shoot a lot of theater and normally use a spot meter, but if using a center weighted meter in the camera with those black backgrounds it is advisable to use manual settings, take your readings, then stop down 2 stops. That's less important with negative film because of the latitude, but with slide film it is critical.
PhotoArchival Posted November 30, 2006 Author Share #9 Posted November 30, 2006 Sorry for ressurecting this shot, but thanks to Paul and Leicamann for your comments . Also thanks to Dennis for the very kind comments! Brent- -thank you for the suggestions! (Could you show me some samples when you have time?) Set to F2.4 was the fastest I can shoot with this camera with the 200 speed film, and even that wasn't very fast considering they were moving constantly. I had to wait for my moment, focus quickly, and pressed the shutter. Much like my "PumpkinPlaza" series I was glad to see that my subjects weren't a moving blob!
