I've searched via keywords in the forums, on LFI, and Flickr for examples of M8 Portraits taken with the 50mm Summarit. I am preparing a trip and want to take a compact 50mm with me.

Either photogs aren't keying photos, or, people are not using this lens much. (Lots of lovely film and MP examples, tho.)

Is anyone hear using the Summarit with the M8 for portraits, esp BW, and if so can you point me to some examples?

Cheers and good [available] light.

joe

Thanks so far for the links and examples. Re the request, are two extreme examples with the 75mm Summarit for comparison. Wondering if anyone's done something similar with the 50mm Summarit.

The lens is perfectly adequate for taking pictures in the cathedrals and at night..

It is so much easier to handle Summarit lenses (35 and 50mm) than summicron and summilux. They are just smoother. Handling/focusing of these lenses is excellent. They practically don't flare.

I realize that inexpensive lenses are not in vogue, but I don't care. I keep summilux/summicron on the shelf, summarit on the cameras (MP, M7, M8), except when I expect very poor illumination.
