kenneth Posted October 18, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 18, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) A Zorki 4K with a 50mm Jupiter lens and leather ER case £40.00 and unlike the mighty Leica it comes with a diopter correction lever as standard. It looked great fun. I am possibly going back to the shop to buy it of one of the many FED cameras they have on offer. I will be interested to try one of them with my Summicron lenses
Advertisement Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Hi kenneth, Take a look here Nearly bought one of these the other day. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
kenneth Posted October 18, 2009 Author Share #2 Posted October 18, 2009 And this site convinced me. The galleries are really worth looking at to see what a talented photographer can achieve with cameras that we might not look twice at. I feel quite ashamed to be honest with you Dominic Fontana's Web Presence
ejd Posted October 18, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 18, 2009 The lenses are fine -- on average -- there is a lot of variation from one to another -- quality control was erratic -- but the cameras themselves are apt to go wrong. The slow shutter speeds tend to go badly off, the shutters need a lot of routine maintenance -- lubrication, adjustment, etc -- to keep them going, and they generally do not get it. They look very cheap, but in my experience it is false economy.
Ludwig Gretch Posted October 18, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 18, 2009 Try a Fed 2 Keneth - arguably the camera that the screw Leica should have become, with a collapsible 50mm Elmar, or Fed ( I can't tell the difference! ) it will fit the pocket. Thanks for that Dave I will explore and try and find one. I did see this camera by the way and it did look rather nice. I notice that you hail from the East Riding.
