Bixi Posted October 14, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 14, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Howdy, For the last six years I've been living in New Zealand. Before moving to New Zealand, I used to live in New York for eight years. Originally I'm from Austria. I'll be coming to New York from 2nd March 2010 until 28th March 2010. I'll be coming with my Leica M9. If anyone is in New York at the same time it would be nice to meet up. Best, Bixi

Guest Bernd Banken Posted October 16, 2009 Share #7 Posted October 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Bixi, nothing special. But when New York comes to my mind I'll think in a second about this photographer who sticks his flashgun into the faces of innocent pedestrians..... It's not my style but I think in the dark areas between the sky scrapers it's necessary, or? For you and your style in photography New York will be an endless row of strong impressions. Cheers Bernd

Cheers Bernd I'm aware of the NY photographer you are talking about. My style of photography is very different to his. I try to capture peoples souls. I don't want their attention at all. I don't want them to look into my camera. I like people to look through me. And I respect privacy. I don't like flash light - natural light is what I work with. eduardoho Posted March 15, 2010 Share #19 Posted March 15, 2010 I have been living in the NY/NJ area more than thirty years, and here you will encounter once in a lifetime imagery for photo opportunity shoot outs. Of course one got to be savvy in what to do and what not to do, but in general the streets are safe. The night imagery of New York is second to none. Respect the New Yorkers the way you want to be respected and you will be all right. You will have a helluva of good time. There is nothing like New York...welcome to New York... ¡bien venido a la Nueva Iorque!
