Advertisement Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Hi JoRa, Take a look here Autumn I. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
vdb Posted October 14, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 14, 2009 I generally do not go for such strong toning....but this is quite nice. Looks more like gold than Se.
pauledell Posted October 14, 2009 Share #3 Posted October 14, 2009 Lovely composition and sharpness. While I think toning is appropriate, on my monitor,it appears a little too orange, perhaps too much. Paul
JoRa Posted October 14, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted October 14, 2009 Thank you for looking and for your comments! Well, one the one hand the adjustment of the monitor gererally influences the reproduction of colours and on the other hand the print has got only a short toning with selenium (about 20 seconds), but it is one of the main characteristics of lith-printing that the lights get coloured - especially with the Fomatone paper - while the shadows remain more untoned and contrastful. Normally I myself do prefer light colours, too, but the strong colour in the picture presented reflects the mood I experienced the moment I did the photo, and (on my monitor) the colours are very similar to the original print. pauledell Posted October 15, 2009 Share #5 Posted October 15, 2009 Johannes, You are absolutely right. The fact you presented this lovely picture the way you envisioned it is the only way to do it. I hope I didn't offend you for my remarks. Paul

JoRa Posted October 15, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted October 15, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Many thanks for your esteemed comments! Nothing offending, Paul - I find this dicussion very helpful! Well, the result , i.e. the colour of the lights in this print is not a matter of toning but a characterictic of lith-printing, especially with the Fomatone paper. After drying the print has already got this colour, the selenium toner only enhances the depth of the shadows with a little shift from brown-green to pure brown.
