Hello,
I want to invest in a Summilux 24mm f/1.4 and had the chance to test a used one before I bought it. Accidentilly I figured out a hotspot exactly in the middle of the frame, if I'm shooting e.g. with f8 and had a light spot (e.g. sun or ceiling lamp) in the the upper part of the frame. The hotspot is independent from the location of the light spot in any case in the middle of the frame. I did test shots with M240 and M246 Monochrom with the same result. The hotspot in the center is less obvious and more blurred with a more open aperture, but still visible (if you know where to look). I attach 2 pictures for demonstration done with f8. Even if shooting with f8 is not my priority with this lens, I'm a bit irritated in the moment.
My first thought was that it is a problem with just one lens. But last week I was able to test another used one and got more or less the same result.
Has anybody experienced the same phenomen or heard about it?
Would somebody be able to test her/his lens under the described conditions?
I already contacted Leica customer care without getting a satisfatory answer.
Thanks, Uwe
