I have just updates the Q3 28mm to 3.1.1. I am told on camera to switch camera off after updating. And then to turn it back on. ok. A 3D colorful moving display plays on the screen. Ok with me. After a while I am asked for my language, the date and time in my region etc ... and in the time setting panel I can go 24h, set my GMT number (-6, Chicago), summer time etc ... I set up the local time here where I sit and THAT IS IT. I can not continue, nothing else can be set up. nothing is offered, ... and I know that I have to set my DNG or Jpeg output formats, Single shot or multiple ..., my steps for ISO changes etc. But I cannot take pictures at all, change the screen entries and modes ... NOTHING works. I am stuck in Date and Time. Literally ! So I turn the camera off, leave the updating card in camera and when I turn camera back on: There is the language question, ... the Date and Time all to be set anew ... and shooting photos impossible, dead in the water. How do I set up Q3 after a firmware update? It is un-usable right now. Do I pull out the firmware updating SD card and put my current SD card in? Will that work, in what language? Thanks for your help, FrankU

Hi! I'm considering an assignment (one of my friends' daughters is getting married) but I'm not entirely sure about photographing a wedding with cameras that only has one memory card slot and slow AF. Photography is not my occupation and I sold all my professional equipment last year. I don't have many details so far. It’s not a big wedding and I expect the bride and groom to be followed for 2-4 hours for ceremony photography, portraits, some group photos, and reportage photos until dinner. I had a Leica Q for many years, before I replaced it with a Q3. I've had the Q3 43 for about six months. Unfortunately, I haven't used the Q3 and Q3 43 much yet, and am therefore a bit unfamiliar with the limitations for now. I've photographed weddings before, but with two camera bodies (Canon 1Dx, R3, R5 etc, lots of lenses to choose from, both fixed focal lengths and zoom) In many ways, one could argue that a lot weddings have been photographed with much simpler cameras, but I'm still wondering if anyone has concrete experience with a comparable case.

My q3 28 viewfinder misbehaves; I found the viewfinder viewing control in the Menu; I dislike the Histogram when I compose, so I turned that off. At the same time I like to have the level shown, so I set that item to on. But for all my efforts, all I got : no histogram blocking my view , but that level just does not show up ever ... which is quite annoying going through the rough sea in the wind .... Is that a common problem? Maybe if I install the newest operating system this will go away? I will try that .... Any advice is welcome. I have zebra turned off and it does not interfere; great! But how about that level? Where did it go? FrankU
