As a starter... (1) SL-3 + 24-90 + polarizer Sometime last year, I started planning another trip to Canada—and I’m actually still in the middle of it now. This time, the main destination was Newfoundland, which, as I’ve come to realize, even Canadians think of as pretty remote. And if that’s not remote enough, you can always go one step further—to Fogo Island. (Which I did. That’s where the iceberg photo comes from.) Other stops on the Newfoundland leg of the trip, in order: Trinity, Fogo Island, Gros Morne National Park, Triton, and St. John’s. After that, I headed to Manitoba for family reasons, and finally wrapped things up in Montréal. As for what I was hoping to photograph: epic landscapes (check), whales (check), puffins (check), wild birds (check), and moose (nope—missed those). The planning wasn’t always smooth—Newfoundland isn’t exactly built for mass tourism, and the airline rescheduled us more than once, which didn’t help. But as usual, it was a fully DIY trip (thanks to @stuny ) Anyway, since I’ve got a bit of breathing room today, I figured I’d start putting together the skeleton of a travel report—and post the first photo.
