Die aktuelle Barnack Challenge erforderte den einen oder anderen Spaziergang. Meist war die diesmal gewünschte Bewölkung etwas spärlich. Wie immer wenn man etwas sucht. Aber das eine oder andere Motiv lag dann doch am Weg. Und der Film mußte voll werden. Diesmal ein Ferrania orto, 50 ISO. Irgendwie auch passend für die Leica II und das Summar. Entwickelt hab ich mit Adox Silvermax. Der mir beim P30 schon gefallen hat. In und um Ludwigsburg Hoheneck am Neckar

Hello everyone! My name is Leticia, I'm 29, and I'm from Sao Paulo, Brazil. As many of you, I recently inherited an old camera from my german grandfather, who came to Brazil in the 40's. It passed from him to my father (who took his firsts "night sky" long exposure pictures with it) and then to me. I looked up on the internet, and came to the conclusion that I have a Leica II (D), from 1938, serial number 302605, and lens Leitz Elmar f=5cm 1:3,5. I believe it's the original lens that came with it, right? This camera has been restored already, about 10 years ago, and remained unused until now - it works, but the film is kind of "stuck" - it doesn't roll properly. The first film I tried to use, during development, turned out to be empty, meaning it never "rolled" in the first place. Besides that, I'm struggling with how to use it - the aperture range is different from other manual cameras that I'm used to, also the Shutter Speed has different numbers - 20-1 (which I have no idea what it means), 30, 40, 60, 100, 200, 500 and Z (also don't know what it means). I'm having a hard time finding a user's manual, or even youtube videos about the camera's specificities, best way to use it, and general configurations, so hopefully I can find some guidance in here! And last but not least - which film is best for this camera? I tried 35mm with color, but I'm not sure if the camera goes only with black and white film. I know I have an incredible camera in my hands, which has been in the family for generations, and to which I have a lot of emotional attachment - so I would really appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on all of this. Hallo zusammen, mit einer Mischung aus Fragezeichen und Groll wende ich mich an das Schwarmwissen des Forums. Ich habe das Glück eine wunderschöne Leica II im Netz geschossen zu haben und freute mich schon auf die Ergebnisse. Bereits zwei Filme habe ich mit ihr verschossen und beide haben kein einziges Bild hergegeben. Ich denke beim ersten Film war es ein Bedienfehler beim einlegen. Beim zweiten Mal allerdings habe ich auf alles geachtet und bin trotzdem ergebnislos geblieben. Meine Fehleranalyse bisher war: Dass sich beim weiterdrehen auch der Auslöser mitdreht, der Film wurde also transportiert. Die Blende funktioniert auch einwandfrei. Das Belichtungsrädchen springt bei jeder Auslösung schnell zurück, es sollte also nicht verklebt sein oder ähnliches. Was mir allerdings aufgefallen ist: Wenn ich das Objektiv abschraube und die Kamera (ohne Film) spanne, dann läuft im Body das Tuch normal und ohne Löcher in die entsprechende Richtung. Drücke ich dann den Auslöser springt es einfach nur in den Ausgangszustand zurück. Müsste es nicht kurz den Film sichtbar machen? Oder läuft das über die "Naht" im Tuch? Vllt hat jmd aus der Community ja eine Idee und kann mir weiterhelfen. Ich danke im Voraus und wünsche ein schönes Wochenende mit bestem Fotowetter. Grüße B

Hi! I have 3 older Leica's that I inherited from my grandfather. I have been trying to look up the value and the best place to sell them in the Netherlands but I am a bit lost. I have a Leica CL with a summicron-c 1:2/40 and an Elmar-c lens I have a Leica II mini and a Leica D.R.P. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar No 508566 Elmar1:3,5 All are working and in perfect condition, including original user manuals. Can someone advice me what the best place is to go and maybe give an estimation of what I can ask for these cameras? I also have a few Leica books, I would like to know the best place to sell these as well. Thank you so much in advance! Sara
