This is a question for those that have used both systems, I currently shoot the X1D, I love the files it produces etc but I find it frustrating that using my M and Nikon lenses on it is a terrible experience based on the poor electronic shutter performance.
i shoot a real mix of subjects, from tripod mounted images of guitars (with flash) to the usual blend of landscape and general ‘life’ captures and the odd professional fashion shoot.
So, I have the chance to swap my X1D for an M10r and I am curious, will I regret the drop in overall image quality, or, is that a mute point being that most of my work ends up in digital spaces?
i have used M cameras in the past, both the M9 and M240, and I have M glass that I would love to use again.
the size difference is also a big one for me, I would love to take my camera on holidays etc but the X1D, although compact is heavy for having on your neck all day and I’m limited to the lens’s I have for it.
i also have a nagging feeling about the longevity of the X1D, my 45p lens has already had to have the main chip replaced and I’m on a second body due to many issues with the first.
what are peoples thoughts? Any experienced advice would really help.
