Thank you to everyone who took part in last month's 113th Barnack's Monthly theme, which was filled with more than 500 pictures, excellent ideas and interpretations of the theme! Also, thank you to everyone who helped to make it another successful month by generously posting their pictures and in particular to those people who posted for the first time - I hope you found it an interesting and rewarding experience and I hope it encourages you to share more of your pictures with us! The Barnack's Monthly theme for March 2018 is: Wet. This month's theme is any pictures about 'wet' or any word with "wet" in it. It could be a wet fish, a wet dish, a wet wish, a wet kiss, a wet Pimms, a wet vet, a wet veteran, a wet vicar, a wet picker, a wet lick, a wet prickle, a wet stick, a wet stickleback, a wet quarterback, a wet greenback, a Weta, a wether, wetting the baby's head, wetter water, the wet look, wet-weather clothes, wet nursing, wet shaving, wet paint, a wet plant, a wet plank, a wet bank, a wet drink, a wet skunk, a wet night in the city, wet wipes, getting wet, not getting wet, getting wetter, a wet room, wet shoes, a wet cruise liner, a wet pet, a wet bet, a wet tête, wet bricks, wet tricks, wetsuits, a wet suit, wet fruit, a wet dessert, a wet table, a wet label, a wet fable, a wet Betty Grable, a wet star, a wet car, a wet carriage, a wet marriage, a wet sweater, a wet sweat, a wet sweet, a wet tweet, a wet sheet, a wet Shetland pony, a wet weatherman - it's entirely your choice so let your imagination run free! It would be a help if you give your picture a title so to help us understand your point of view but it's not compulsory. Members have asked if we'd very kindly name the camera and lens used - if you can remember - because it's interesting to know but, again, it's not compulsory just helpful. The rules are deliberately loose so go out and shoot with this month's theme in mind or start searching back through those pictures you took oh-so long ago that you'd forgotten about and start posting! It doesn't have to be your best ever shot and it's not a competition so you might surprise the rest of us and yourself - it's just about sharing some pictures, seeing others' take on the topic, and enjoying it! Everybody's welcome to contribute, any interpretation, any number of posts, pictures that have been posted on the forum before, any equipment as long as it and the photo complies with the forum's rules of either camera or lens or both made by Leica. Please post freely - especially newcomers and please remember there's no judging or criticism (good or bad) in this thread. Hi all, I would like to hear about your practices and get some advice from you regarding the way I clean my negatives before scanning them. Most of my negatives (both color and B&W) are returned to me from the lab with visible stains of water on the film. Probably they don't do the drying correctly and on top of that the water in my city is very hard (lots of calcium and magnesium). If I scan them as is I get quite large white circles. Recently I have tried to use a glass cleaning cloth and I wash it with a bit of liquid soap. Then I use this wet cloth to clean the top surface of the film (the one that is glossy). This way I have noticed that I can remove the white deposits (water marks) on the film. I wait a few seconds for the film to dry and then scan it. Question 1: How do you guys proceed with your stained negatives? Question 2: Do you think that by proceeding the way I do I am potentially harming my negatives for the long term? what else can one do on a rainy sunday but cover the camera with a protectionate foil and look for something. Over a fence most of the ivy was cut down but a few twigs and branches left. It was very dark, so then normally I do several shots with different exposure. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R-60mm on tripod. here I used an LED pocket lamp for illumination

hello everyone! i read a lot about leica users being worried about their cameras getting wet and stuff...so here is a little field report: i am now back from a 3 day assignment covering a traditional mountain crossing in austria...first day was perfect weather so no problems...2nd day was not quite as good...it poured down the whole day...and we had to walk down from 2200m to 600m above sea level for about 7 hours...to make it short: everything was completely soaked...i for myself, my backpack and my lowe carrying case (which is of very good quality, but you guys know that...they arent the sexiest bags out there but worth the money)...since i was on an assignment i had to take photos...and my m9-p got really really wet...and not just that...since it was so cold and humid outside, once we entered huts on the way the camera steamed up real bad...it looked like there were 2mm of water around the camera...that left me a bit worried so i wiped it as good as i could until it got warm enough...then out again, then in again and so on...that whole story went on for 7 hours and i tell you again, everything was soaked and i was worried as hell so the good news: the camera was and still works perfect! no worries at all...crystal clear and sharp images! so to make it short for real this time: it might not be weather sealed, but it can take a lot, that little m9-p fella i love this little thing!
