I am sure this question was addressed before, but I couldn't find the answers. I thought of adding one or the other lens to my recently acquired S2 (have only a 70mm). I read some interesting reviews about Mamiya 645 AF-System Lenses. Of course, you can't replace a Leica lens, I get that. However, price and weight are important considerations too. Being that the Leica S2 is an AF cam, it would be counter-intuitive to start having to shoot manual. I am doing that already on my T cam with some M lenses. I'd like to retain a reliable communication between lens and the S2 camera body. Therefore my question:
==> Thinking of Mamiya lenses, and when coupled with the Leica M645 S-Adapter
for Mamiya 645-System Lenses, do I retain the "all-auto" functions on the S ? Alternatively, which other lens (other than Leica) would let me retain the sought after reliable communication between lens and camera body ("all-auto" functions remain fully functional) ?
Thanks for your (hopefully encouraging) replies.
