Advertisement Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Hi Max Alfy, Take a look here Montigny Car Museum (x6). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
USA road racer Posted March 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2009 Astounding photos of some outstanding cars! Love the photo of the Bugatti engine with all the little engine turned finish. Looks like stainless steel headers as well. What can be said of the graceful radiator artwork? Elegant comes to mind. Nice work on a subject that's dear to my heart. Max Alfy Posted March 12, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted March 12, 2009 Thank you for your appreciation USA road racer and Doc Henry. The nice thing about that museum is that every car is absolutely spotless. That’s Switzerland… Max
elansprint72 Posted March 12, 2009 Share #5 Posted March 12, 2009 I like the I-F shot. I think your "Lagonda" is a Horch.
Max Alfy Posted March 12, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted March 12, 2009 Thank you for your appreciation Pete. I did not write it down at the time, but I remember looking at the bonnet of the car, it read Lagonda. Or is it already Al Zeimer? As for the I-F, they were displaying photos of it, together with other museum cars, taken outside during the summer. These cars appparently still run. neila Posted April 16, 2009 Share #9 Posted April 16, 2009 I used to drive through Martigny a fair bit as my company kept a chalet in Verbier for many years - Martigny was where the more 'interesting' driving would start! I never knew they had a car museum... Great shots, I was interested in number one - the clarity of your shot shows the Rolls grille to be wiped clean with a dish cloth! stuny Posted April 17, 2009 Share #10 Posted April 17, 2009 Max - A lovely, loving series. I've always found the Hispano Suiza hood ornament to be among the most graceful ever made. I also especially like the SSK and the Bug engine.
Max Alfy Posted April 20, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted April 20, 2009 Thank you for your appreciation Neila and Stuart. I just realize that there is a typo in the title, it is of course the Martigny Car Museum, part of the Pierre Gianadda Foundation which displays a rich and fascinating collection of the Martigny Roman history. Guest flatfour Posted April 23, 2009 Share #12 Posted April 23, 2009 I think Pete is right. That doesn't look like aLagonda to me. I don't think it's English bodywork.
