pauledell Posted September 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 21, 2009 Ian, A great series of a diverse group of people. Great composition, tonality, and clarity. I love the first picture orf the girl sitting. Her expression is so pleasing. Paul

ptarmigan Posted September 22, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted September 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks for the comments. Great grey Ian!!! which program did you use to convert to b&w? do you remember how close you were to the girl(1st picture). And the aperture? nice shoots!!! I was about 10-12 feet away from her, I was crouched very low down. She looked at me and gave a nice smile so I shot several images. I really wanted her looking elsewhere so I waited until another person caught her eye for this shot. Aperture was f4 I think. As for B&W conversion. I almost always use PS CS3 - Image, Adjustments, B&W. There are then 10 options for 'tweaks' and sliders for Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Magenta. I typically try each 'option' and then once I am 'near' I fine tune with the sliders. Hope this helps.
nikolas Posted September 23, 2009 Share #8 Posted September 23, 2009 very helpful indeed. If the man behind had behind him something brighter than his hat, so you could see the hat's figure easier, it will be more powerful balanced picture. but i like it anyway nikolas
