azzo Posted August 3, 2011 Share #2 Â Posted August 3, 2011 Nice .. Â .. to my eyes, it looks as though it needs some punch put into it Wilfredo.
wilfredo Posted August 3, 2011 Author Share #3 Â Posted August 3, 2011 Maybe it does. I will play with it later. That aside, the lady has character, and I hope I captured some of that.
wilfredo Posted August 4, 2011 Author Share #4 Â Posted August 4, 2011 Azzo, Â I played with the levels a bit and I think you are right, looks better with a little more punch. Â Cheers!

likalar Posted August 4, 2011 Share #8 Â Posted August 4, 2011 The second is better on my screen. Amazing woman, that she is still so active for her age. Her strength is evident. Nicely done, and the wall and shirt inspired each other. Larry

thompsonkirk Posted August 5, 2011 Share #10  Posted August 5, 2011 Hi, Wilfredo –  Just so you hear all sides: I thought the original version looked lovely – & see the revised edition as too 'pumped up,' as are so many images on the web. Don't be afraid to stay with the gentler palette?  Kirk
daveleo Posted August 5, 2011 Share #11  Posted August 5, 2011 Hi, Wilfredo –  Just so you hear all sides: I thought the original version looked lovely – & see the revised edition as too 'pumped up,' as are so many images on the web. Don't be afraid to stay with the gentler palette?  Kirk  That's the way I see it also. #2 is more dramatic, but #1 seems to me more accurate. (don't ask to explain that)
wilfredo Posted August 6, 2011 Author Share #12 Â Posted August 6, 2011 Thank you all. Depending on what screen I use I too like either version better. This poses a dilemma, LOL. That aside, my main interest in this photo was to capture something of my favorite aunt's character and spirit - even as she fast approaches a full century of life. Â Cheers! wda Posted August 6, 2011 Share #13 Â Posted August 6, 2011 A lovely story, Wilfredo and an equally lovely old lady! Â Sometimes a softer toned rendering is more appropriate for such subjects, as in your first picture. Because of the medium, we do tend to prefer a little more life in pictures viewed on our monitors. Both have their places in presentation.
