Marc,

It would be interesting to know what was in the firmware ... I'm hopeful that the tweaks will be beneficial (even faster focus, less hunting or whatever) ... after all, some of us have been unsuspecting Leica guinea pigs in the past. ;)

Albert,

The camera should recognize which lens is on the camera automatically. I simply loaded the card with the the lens firmware into the camera with the 180 on the camera and followed the instructions. After the firmware was installed, I then shut the camera off and removed the 180 (and kept the card in the camera). I switched lenses to the 70, pushed the AE/AF button while turning the camera on, and the camera recognized that the 70 was there and loaded the correct firmware.

Hello Dear Friends,

I just purchased a refurbished S2P today and I wanted to update the firmware. I tired to register it on the Leica Site and it states that the SN is wrong or previously registered.

Anyway, My dealer is working this issue for me.

To make a long story short. I need someone's help in downloading the latest S2P and Summarit 70mm non CS firmware along with instructions and email it to me.

Your help is much appreciated. My Camera currently has FW 1.0.0.17.

Thanks in advance

Hi- I had the same issue. Leica deregistered the previous owner for me within 48hours. So worst case - you wait 48 hours for an upgrade the benefits of which are unclear

There is a brave man, loading new firmware the day it arrives before a shoot :-)

Kevin.

Kevin, I have a full Sony A900 back-up system in the bag and with me at all times for stuff like this. If more is actually needed, I bring the Hasselblad MFD.

The S2 worked flawlessly ... under a great deal of pressure I might add. It held up better than I did ... LOL!

Has anyone else had a problem with the 180 after the last lens firmware was installed.

I seem to be seeing an fairly consistent 1 - 1.5 EV overexposure

Cheers

Ed

You may have the sticking aperture problem . Diglloyd had this on his 180 and I ve had it on the 35 . Check to see if the lens is stopping down to the shooting aperture.

Good! The fix was inexpensive, quick, convenient... and effective. Something to keep in mind if I encounter that; thanks!

..... And unfortunately not long-lived. The 180 has gone back to its parents at Solms for a little lesson to fix its delinquency.

Will update when I have any feedback from Solms
