innerimager Posted September 10, 2009 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think separating the M8 and M9 into 2 forums is just silly and counterproductive. There will be a lot of useful comparison discussions, as well as enough overlap in discussing using these very similar tools to warrant open dialogue. Other forums lump the higher end bodies like Nikon D3X, D3, D2, D1 in the same forum productively. RFF has a M8/M9 forum. So should we. best....Peter
Advertisement Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hi innerimager, Take a look here Put the M9 and M8 forums back together please!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
zlatkob Posted September 10, 2009 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2009 I agree 100%. One forum for both would be much better.
vertekijker Posted September 10, 2009 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2009 I agree. Why not a 'digital M'- forum for both M8 and M9? ---------------- Frans
fishblimp Posted September 10, 2009 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2009 i agree. at first it seemed necessary to have two areas for the two models, but now it doesn't make as much sense. less than half of the threads are model specific entries, wheras the rest seem of the entries seem to be more about the more common (to both models) issues/topics. noah_addis Posted September 10, 2009 Share #5 Posted September 10, 2009 I also agree, since many photographers will use both cameras and they will share issues. There aren't different forums for the MP and M7, etc. I think a 'Digital M' section would be most appropriate.
Iansky Posted September 10, 2009 Share #6 Posted September 10, 2009 I agree with that and if Leica are to respond to some of our wishes surrounding firmware updates etc surely it is more productive to review one "Digital M" forum than seperate links. It is also less inclined to create animosity by way of a them & us (have & have nots) forum!

Rolo Posted September 10, 2009 Share #12 Posted September 10, 2009 I disagree for the moment, but in a month or two accept it's the right thing to do. Right now any M8 post will just get swept aside by the torrent of M9 threads. For the sake of M8 users, keep them apart for the time being, please. Right now any M8 post will just get swept aside by the torrent of M9 threads. I agree, if you look at the number of M9 threads anything to do with the M8 would be swamped. I'm sure once the initial excitement is over the two will be merged into a single digital rangefinder sub-forum.

efftee Posted September 10, 2009 Share #18 Posted September 10, 2009 Yes, for sure. The M8 and M9 are so similar threads concerning one often concerns the other.

I opted against a separation of M9- and M8-suforums before it happened yesterday. But since then I see that you are right. When the first waves of experience and counterexperiences are over, the division should be re-evaluated. My may concern is the labyrinth you have to go through with all these subdivisons if you look for lenses.

Andy B confirmed it yesterday as he was carrying my coffee.
