Advertisement Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Hi biglouis, Take a look here Railway landscape. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted July 20, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 20, 2008 Big - The same terific light, color and cripsness we've seen of your work in the last few months, and excellent depth, too.
thompsonkirk Posted July 21, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 21, 2008 I love the way you've located so many elements - clouds, tracks, poster, arches - in the frame. It's like several pictures in one! Kirk
Martin T-M Posted July 21, 2008 Share #4 Posted July 21, 2008 Very well seen, Louis. Excellent composition.

biglouis Posted July 21, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted July 21, 2008 Guys, thanks for the positive comments. This was a bit of grab shot as the parapet at this point is higher than me. I have to balance on a post on one leg just to get above it! Just finished printing this at A3 on my R2400. I can't believe the edge to edge sharpness of the tiny little CV28/3.5 lens or the micro contrast in certain areas. Such a great little lens. Saloti Posted July 21, 2008 Share #7 Posted July 21, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Louis, is this your miniature railway in your cellar ? It looks unbelievably artificial, excellent shot
MPerson Posted July 22, 2008 Share #8 Posted July 22, 2008 This really tells a story Louis. I love the dirty, smoke blackened Victorian brickwork now isolated and unwanted alongside the new tracks. 50 years ago that would have had wall to wall tracks. The sky is perfect - again. biglouis Posted July 22, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted July 22, 2008 Lothar and Andy, thanks for the comments. Andy, this is an area of architectural significance. If I recollect correctly this is the part of the first major site of railway development northwards from King's Cross (which is one of the earliest terminuses in London), so the brickwork must dates from the middle 19th century. There are fine examples of these forgotten, splendid brickworks all around the Kentish Town area and they are well worth photographing, imho.
