Posto 6 Posted December 8, 2011 Share #1 Â Posted December 8, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Having inadvertently forgotten all my other glass at home on a 3-week trip, I had the pleasure of being "stuck" with only my mk2 19mm Elmarit-R, a DMR and R9. Using both film and the DMR (I only had 1 camera with me), I was able to use this lens in all sorts of unexpected circumstances, where I would normally use other primes or zooms. What an eye-opening experience- this lens is far better (and I have had one since 1995) than I ever realized.Additionally, it is far more robust than it's predecessor with the nasty 1970's plastic innards, as well as being far more modern in it's performance and results. Â I believe that this is one of the great bargains currently available in the used market- and it should also be quite usable on the M9 as well, in spite of the R-mount due to it's generous DOF. rsh Posted December 9, 2011 Share #4 Â Posted December 9, 2011 I agree with you on the 19 Elmarit ver 2. Wonderful lens. I had the previous generation in the 80s and it was a good lens too, though not on par with the 19 Ver 2.
