"The Emperor "Long" wished to recreate, in abbreviated form, a replica of the Forbidden City in Beijing. At his command, tens of thousands

of laborers were conscripted to dig a ten kilometer moat and earthen walls to form the outer perimeter of the citadel.

Later, the earthen walls were replaced by two-meter-thick stone walls built in the style of the French military architect Vauban ....

Very nice images.

Some would say that Kodak handles the reds better then Fuji film. I think the reds look pretty good in your photos.

I really like the second photo however I wonder if you would crop out the right up to the poles. it would make it a stronger image.

....and the top of the door shown above in details : I saw the workers worked in restoration ,it was an extremely meticulous and long job.

Those are small fragments of faience which are glued together end to end

Thanks for looking and comments welcome

and there are other places where you can find statues remarkably sculpted in a sumptuous decor, as on this photo always

during this imperial period.

Thank you Ben and Christopher for your nice comments

Thank you , thank you for seeing that you appreciate the architecture of this wonderful city in the course of restoration.

I will post even more photos if i have the time to scan

You will notice that from a technical point of view ,these are photos coming from films: what keeps me still in the film, it is the faithful restitution of colours

without any correction with any software photo (i have 2 M8)

.... This vast city of many acres is surrounded around by water channels (inspired by western castle in Vauban style) and bridges.

Certains plans are invaded by lotus which makes it even nicer decor as shown in this picture (R8 Fuji Provia 100)

Thanks again for your many comments and for looking

Henry
