TomB_tx Posted February 18, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I noticed a Nicca FILCA clone on the auction site from Japan, and the Bakelite case that came with it caught my eye: Welcome, dear visitor! The Nicca version of the FILCA is an accurate clone, quite well made, but I'd never seen one with a case. When it arrived today I noticed the nice Bakelite case has a script name on the top, which I couldn't quite make out. But with my 60 Macro Elmarit R and 1:1 adapter I could get a good image: I'd never heard of "Hinomaruya" but a Google search showed Camerapedia knew of the company as a Tokyo distributor of Nicca cameras from 1951 to 1958. That certainly explains this item.
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! levegh Posted February 24, 2017 Share #2 Posted February 24, 2017 I have several Nicca FILCA copies which work well. My cases are the same shape as the one you show, but in black plastic (not Bakelite). The name on the lids is the same as yours. The plastic is very similar to that used for Agfa Rondix... shiny, thinner than one expects of Bakelite and less stiff.

That certainly explains this item. Careful not to read the initial "H" as a "K" - "Kino..."
mickjazz Posted February 26, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 26, 2017 I have a nicca with a chrome hood from the K guys. Well made. I think they dealt in small accessories.
