Not shown is the X1 handgrip here. Leica 36mm viewfinder, Kiwi extension tube, Hoya polarizer filter and Leica-style sun hood. Not my daily setup really, but great for travel.

Nice set-up. Where did you purchase this sun hub? I have the extension tube and filter but I also want such a sun tube or a similar type.

I used to get some nice close-up results using pairs of Rolleinar I, II and III attachments on a Rolleiflex GX camera (the upper lens of each pair also contained a prism to compensate for parallax).

It seems to me that something like this should be possible with the X1 using a large diameter close-up lens of sufficient diameter to avoid vignetting.

I'm afraid these hoods will cause vignheting, if you look to the lens angle you notice it will cover part of the lens

i use this hood for few months, definive no vignetting,never....;)

Inspired by your pictures, finally decided to buy those accessories, especially the 49mm tube. Am in China, so the stuff are rather cheap here – 49mm tube cost only $20 with shipping, vented lens hood (unbranded) $5 with shipping. Attached the picture fitted with my Leica E55 polarizer (with adapter ring, the tube is 52mm on the open end).

All fitted very tightly, good for special occasion. Usually I will store the accessories in a tin can – not an easy job to find such thing, but am very lucky in garage with packaging from my son’s toy.. :p

- Sqinno Leather half case for Leica X1

- Helios Viewfinder

- HOYA 49mm UV(0) HMC Filter Multi Coated 49 mm (the best uv filter)

- KIWI 49MM Metal Lens Filter Adapter Tube + Hood

I'm still waiting for a leather strap and a lens cap.

Just purchased my X1 and cannot see how you would attach a UV filter to the lens - there is no thread.
