carlmuck Posted December 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 7, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm having issues with my M9 and attempted (on Leica USA's recommendation) to reload the firmware as part of trouble shooting. The camera recognizes the "m9-1_002.upd" file and prompts me: "Do you want to update the firmware to version 1.002?" I select "Yes" and press set, and then get this message: "Attention Update file is incompatible with your camera." Is this unique to my camera or have others tried this and seen it? I also note that after getting this message the camera appears to be dead. I put the switch to the "OFF" position and removed the baseplate to take the battery out. On removal of the base plate the usual baseplate warning is displayed (with the switch set to "OFF") which strikes me as wrong... c.
Advertisement Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Hi carlmuck, Take a look here Has anyone re-loaded FW 1.002?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
enboe Posted December 8, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 8, 2009 I reloaded mine, no problem. I'd make the standard suggestions: Card formatted in camera Use card reader to put the unzipped file at the top level of the card directory structure Full camera battery Run the update Good luck. carlmuck Posted December 8, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted December 8, 2009 Thanks, this just confirms the bad news, for me, and the camera is going back to Leica... c.
