mboerma Posted September 30, 2008 Share #3 Posted September 30, 2008 Thanks. Is the M8 manual updated as well? I quickly looked through it but did not see the new Auto ISO stuff for example. Would be nice I Leica did update the manual when they add new functionality to the firmware.
mhoutman Posted September 30, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted September 30, 2008 Thanks. Is the M8 manual updated as well? I quickly looked through it but did not see the new Auto ISO stuff for example. Would be nice I Leica did update the manual when they add new functionality to the firmware. perhaps they add a separate sheet as add-in with a description of all changes. a new manual would be too expensive
mboerma Posted September 30, 2008 Share #5 Posted September 30, 2008 I mean a PDF version would be nice. I personally don't care for a paper version (save the forests! ).
Shootist Posted September 30, 2008 Share #6 Posted September 30, 2008 Thanks. Is the M8 manual updated as well? I quickly looked through it but did not see the new Auto ISO stuff for example. Would be nice I Leica did update the manual when they add new functionality to the firmware. Since Auto ISO is so intuitive to use and somewhere Leica points to part of the M8.2 manual for instructions, which can be downloaded, and for the fact that Leica has probably stopped making the M8, and only supplying to dealers what they have left in stock, I doubt there will be any update to the M8C manual. I also doubt there will be any newly sold M8C's that come with version 2 firmware installed on them.

scott kirkpatrick Posted September 30, 2008 Share #8 Posted September 30, 2008 I had read that the thumbwheel when not doing its zoom function in play mode would also function in shooting mode, controlling exposure compensation. The Instruction manual says that it also has new function in menu navigation mode, where it supplements the up and down buttons, allowing arbitrary numbers of steps in either direction. scott
Theodor Heinrichsohn Posted October 1, 2008 Share #9 Posted October 1, 2008 m8.2 instructions in german, english, dutch, italian and spanish are hosted now on both leica us en germany servers. A question: Has anyone tried to fit the 15mm Hologon onto an M8 or M8.2 ? The M8 AND the M8.2 manual state that this lens can't be used. I have had it on my black M8 with no damage. The light meter does not work - as it also does not with the 21mm f4 and f 3.4 Super Angulons and the first version 28/2.8. I also recall a forum member (in Thailand) using a converted 16mm Hologon on his M8. Am I living dangerously? Teddy
