photosandthelaw Posted July 10, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 10, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Got my hands on something of an oddity. I am told there are only 5 of them, though I have a hard time believing it. Feast your eyes on a black paint - leica m8 - with chrome trim. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Hi photosandthelaw, Take a look here M8 - Black Paint. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
SJP Posted July 10, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 10, 2008 Yes that looks good! I have a chrome finish (& I have no desire for black) but this looks unusual & rather distinguished. Infinitely more desirable than pink ferret skin or whatever endangered animal seems appropriate. Is this made on demand or whas it a special issue? In the latter case was it a special occasion? brassia Posted July 10, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 10, 2008 It's beautiful. Official product? not painted after?
Shootist Posted July 10, 2008 Share #4 Posted July 10, 2008 Just where did you get it? From a authorized dealer? I suspect not. I also suspect it is a chrome M8 that someone has painted the top & bottom plate black. If this was a real factory paint job and there were only 5 of them made it would be worth mucho dinaro. But hey what do I know.
kdemas Posted July 10, 2008 Share #5 Posted July 10, 2008 Nice! They made some "panda" M7s or M6s, if I remember right, and that combo looks really nice. I too would like to know where you found that? Kent
BerndReini Posted July 11, 2008 Share #6 Posted July 11, 2008 I just saw someone picking up one of these. This comes from a very official source: 50 of them made, $22,000 worth, not for sale but just special promotional item. I was there when the owner of a very big camera store received his, which he bought for his collection.
