johnastovall Posted September 10, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) It was in a junk box of Leica gear I got an an estate sale. Was packed in a generic cardboard box with foam rubber around it. I can't find it in any of my Leica references. What have I got here? bill Posted September 10, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2008 Looks like a neg-cutter or more likely a slide mounter to me. Regards, Bill
jc_braconi Posted September 10, 2008 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2008 Hello, This is an ELDUR, Diapositivkopierer. It was used to copy slides on negative films. The square shaped box is for retaining the slide and the two rolls for the panchromatic negative film.
maxspbr Posted September 10, 2008 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2008 Maybe it is an acessory to copy negative film in glass slides... At those days (30s and 40s) this kind of support was widely used. (and very pratical, indeed!). Martin
chilihead Posted September 11, 2008 Share #5 Posted September 11, 2008 Actually it is the unbelievably rare (only two known to exist) Leica Party nutcracker! You put the nuts in the square part and push down on the lever! Then lift the lever and serve the nuts! This is a Leitz treasure and if put on Ebay - well, prepare for your ship to come in! bkyoung Posted September 12, 2008 Share #6 Posted September 12, 2008 Actually it is the unbelievably rare (only two known to exist) Leica Party nutcracker! You put the nuts in the square part and push down on the lever! Then lift the lever and serve the nuts! This is a Leitz treasure and if put on Ebay - well, prepare for your ship to come in! This is an ugly rumor started by Japanese collectors of the much less valuable Leica bon-bon maker, mass-produced in large numbers in Canada. The only Leica nutcracker, a prototype never produced, is in the leicakunstwerkmuseum in Wetzlar...
