Summar: filter thread size and pitch?

I've been using my Summar on an R-D1 and now on the M8. In order to get the best results you have to use one of these B&W 486 UV/IR filters. Problem is I dont know which filter size and thread pitch that fits onto the Summar. Someone mentioned that it's a 34mm but I wouldnt know for sure... It seems Foto Huppert has a 34mm x 0.5 I could buy.. Does anyknow know? Thanks

No. That's one of the problems. I hope one of the filter makers wakes up and makes one. going forward with everything digital this will be the only filter anyone will buy. All the others dont make sense anymore. But anyone using an old Leica lens on any future bodies will want this A36 slideon. They could sell quite a few I'm sure...

... for savvy collectors of little Leitz accessories... it came to my mind that some solution would exist... and searching between my various gear I found the SOOGZ / 13154 : an A36 clamp on ring that accepts the E39 filters.

Have you thought of buying a 34mm-39mm stepping ring? You could then use the 'standard' Leica filter - and also mount a 39mm lens hood.

 

SRB-Griturn (SRB-GRITURN LTD) in UK has a good range and will make odd sizes to special order.

I wonder if any manufacturer would bother to do that.

 

The solution given by Luigi is excellent.

But if you madly want an IR filter on A36 mount, you could take a new E39 IR, let the glass be re-cut down to Ø34mm by a optician an put it in replacement of the old one. :)
