Pecole Posted November 11, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 11, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Appeared in 1932 and still listed in the US in 1939, the Direkt pneumatic delayed action release was not made by Leitz. It was a very simple, cheap and handy accessory for the early Leica cameras, but it needed a special adapter screw to fit the thread around the release button (I also had this screw, but cannot find a photo of it). It was replaced by the more sophisticated Leitz APDOO in 1938. The small "cap" appearing on the photo had to be screwed on the Direkt to contain the extending rod, in order to be able to store it in its box. I was happy enough to find a Direkt in its tiny cardboard "box", on one side of which the "instructions" were printed.
