Pecole Posted February 27, 2011 Share #1 Posted February 27, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) This is a curious Leitz projection accessory, which I couldn't trace referenced in the classical "bibles" (Lager, Laney) : a folding metal rectangle, about 9 x 12 cm in size (closed), whose one of internal faces is a superbly polished silver-plated "mirror". It is illustrated in several Leitz leaflets and catalogues, shown semi-open, suspended reverse-folded on an horizontal support in front of a projector or retro-projector (or epidiascope?) used in some scientific application. A very nice piece of manufacturing, with printed handling warnings about its fragility inside the hinged cover. I know that before selling my Leitz-Leica library, I had discovered a code for it in one of my numerous Leitz leaflets. But I neglected captioning my photos at that time, and I only hope now that "summi.cron" of Pradoseum will provide it (he knows everything about Leitz projection systems, no?).

Summi Cron Posted February 28, 2011 Share #2 Posted February 28, 2011 Hello, it´s the mirror of the "Leitz Betrachtungskasten "DYUUI" or "SHUUC". It was build since about 1937 with the Leitz VIIIs, later with the Prado 100, Prado 150 or the Prado 250. See it on the pictures. Best regards!
