jc_braconi Posted January 23, 2011 Share #1 Posted January 23, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) The MBROO was the ultimate ever ready case made by Leitz for protecting the cameras against sand, water and hurts. It was made for the III serie cameras models. Made in cast aluminium alloy, it is sealed all around its closing edges, when locking with the two levers. Some picts for illustration.

Pecole Posted January 23, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 23, 2011 The pix of my MBROO does not compete with Jean-Claude Braconi's ones, bu here are some informations I collected at Wetzlar some 30 years ago. First, the MBROO was specifically made for the IIIF, but could of course accomodate other models. Second, it seems that the original request for a tight and resistant case came from the Belgian importer, whose many customers working in, or traveling to (then) Belgian Congo, faced humidity problems. Your pict show a different painting about the locking levers. the large screw is grooved on yours, also some have a leather strap.
