}{B Posted August 28, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 28, 2014 Hi, I bought some Ilford Delta 400 films. Can i set my ISO to 400 or do i have to overexpose this film? You are free to set whatever ISO gives you the best results. If you develop your own film you may find that an ISO other than the rated box speed gives a better negative depending on your developing regime. I use Delta100 at box speed and I get negatives I'm pleased with. Try setting 400 and see what result you get and work from there.
tobey bilek Posted August 30, 2014 Share #3 Posted August 30, 2014 400 is fine. Two developers make a world of difference with it, Xtol and Ilford DD X. My favorite D76 makes a grainy mess. I have never seen a film as sensitive to developer at Delta 400. Roger Hicks reported the same when it first came out.
Minochage Posted September 7, 2014 Share #4 Posted September 7, 2014 Hello Paul-san. I'm writing this near Tokyo. I frequently apply ISO200 as desensitized development for this film. I like the silky tone of Delta400 with desensitized image. Then I adjust the development time (relatively shorter time) during self-development of film. Welcome, dear visitor! tobey bilek Posted September 7, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 7, 2014 Been rating film at 1/2 rated speed and cutting development 20% for years now. Increased shadow detail and lower grain, much lower than I can get with any other method. 2
