I was wondering if anyone can tell me what Leica body this is please? It doesn't look like the M8 but they are looking at some kind of screen on back. And it looks like there's this view finder or something with black plastic/metal around it on the back as well. And what's the thing standing up on top? Doesn't look like a view finder. Maybe it is. Almost looks like a flash unit or something, but that can't be, can it?

Beg to differ. I think it's a Digilux 3. I don't own either of these anymore (used to), but I don't think the Digilux2 had the shutter release in the middle of the shutter speed dial like we see above, but the Digilux 3 did. Also, looks like a more pronounced built-in grip, also indicative of the Digilux3.

BTW, it is still listed on the Leica web site: http://us.leica-camera.com/photography/d_system/

Just found one of those in a shop window in minti-ish look for roughly €1000, Is that a reasonable price?

I think it probably is, if you really want one. I bought this camera new (couple of years ago) for 2500.00 USD, which is roughly 1800 euros. Eventually, I believe Leica discounted it to about 1800.00 USD to clear inventory. Leica cameras, even the digital collaborations with Panasonic, hold their value pretty well, so a used price between 1000.00 USD and 1400.00 USD (which is about 1000 euros) seems like the right range, albeit at the high end.

You'd want to make sure it comes with it's kit lens, and if it had any sort of remaining warranty, that'd be a bonus.

The major consideration, however, would be that the four-thirds camera market has moved on since the Digilux 3 was introduced, and that offerings from Olympus in particular would give you more for your money . But it wouldn't be a Leica.
