Advertisement Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Hi robert_parker, Take a look here M3 Double Stroke vs M3 Single Stroke. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
SOOHN Posted March 8, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 8, 2009 Is this not different enough? What else did you mean?
Ivar B Posted March 8, 2009 Share #3 Posted March 8, 2009 Robert, There may be a few differences except the obvious depending on the age of the body. For example, the 2 stroke version had a change to geometric shutter speeds from 854001 and from 844001 the film pressure plate was changed to metal. The single stroke version which appeared in 1958 (from 919251) also has the depth of field indicators added to the rangefinder image frame. Hope to see you again in Solms in June! You may add the longer advance lever for film transport, a spacer under this lever, some other very subtle changes of the rewind lever and knob, the relase button for the lenses, the strap lugs and changes on the reminder disk for DIN and ASA. Though i think none of these little changes came correspondingly with the change to single stroke. So you find many differences during production history of the M 3 without much talking of an "upgrade".
