1234 Posted November 27, 2008 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Can anyone comment on the feel of the zoom operation on the 28-90mm Asph R lens, 11365? Do you have uniformly smooth travel? Any binding, and if so, at what focal length indicated? Thanks.

masjah Posted November 27, 2008 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2008 Can anyone comment on the feel of the zoom operation on the 28-90mm Asph R lens, 11365? Do you have uniformly smooth travel? Any binding, and if so, at what focal length indicated? Thanks. Mine has a stiffer spot round about 40mm (maybe a bit less!). The zoom mechanism on this lens is complicated - the direction of movement of the internal lens components changes - the internal guide slots "turn a corner" - and I think this is associated with a bit more stiffness. I don't think it's a fault. Hope this helps.
rsh Posted November 27, 2008 Share #3 Posted November 27, 2008 Same thing here. No worries
atournas Posted November 28, 2008 Share #4 Posted November 28, 2008 Hi, Mine also exhibits some stiffness somewhere between 40 and 35. Sometimes I get the impression the effect is intensified after continuous use, but no bet. Paul
