Hi everyone.

How do I evaluate these two lenses against one another? I have a 5D and have been shooting Canon's 45mm TS lens, so I want to buy one. Assuming I can mount the Leica lens on an EOS body, how can I figure out which is better? Anyone here have any experience with one or both of those lenses? Anything particular to look out for?

The Leica is just a shift lens. No tilt. It's made by Schneider, who probably also makes one in a Cannon mount. I have the Leica but use it so seldom that I have no confirmed opinion of its optical quality. Sure is a beauty, though!

If you need a tilt-shift, then the Cannon is your answer.
