Guest rubidium Posted August 15, 2006 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an opportunity to buy a used one of these in mint condition, but would first like to resolve some uncertainty I presently have about possible variations of these extenders. I see some images on the web with the engraving "For R 2.8/280", and others with the engraving "For R 2.8/280 2.8/400". Are these different items in the optical sense, or simply variations in labeling? Also is there a ROM version if this extender, and if so is the non-ROM compatible with ROM lenses? Bottom line is that I'm looking for compatibiity with the 4.0/280 Apo-Telyt-R ROM. Thanks for any insights, Jim
Advertisement Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Hi Guest rubidium, Take a look here Question on 1.4x Apo-Extender-R. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wizard Posted August 15, 2006 Share #2 Posted August 15, 2006 Jim, the 1.4-Extender was originally designed for the Apo 2.8/280 lens, hence the labeling on early versions. It may be used with other lenses as well, notably the 2.8/400 and also the 4/280 you mentioned. There is no ROM version of this extender, but it is compatible with ROM and non-ROM lenses.
