Paul Hart Posted July 13, 2010 Share #4 Posted July 13, 2010 Don't want to steal your thunder but perhaps whet your appetite...I got the chance to try one on my M9 in my local store today and here's one of the results. Could post more if anyone interested. It's at 1.4, naturally. Forgot to re-set the lens detection to auto but never mind...

Ed_K Posted July 14, 2010 Share #8 Posted July 14, 2010 uh Clandrel, i notice there is slight vignetting with your illustration, could it be some post-processing work you have done? thanks in advance for sharing.
Clandrel Posted July 14, 2010 Share #9 Posted July 14, 2010 Yes, I have added some vignetting...
k_g_wolf ✝ Posted July 14, 2010 Share #10 Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) ... added some vignetting ----------------------------------- Somehow weird: here we are paying a fortune for these stellarlenses and are forced to add lensdefects in PS to make a more interesting photograph. That´s how you spell art, I presume. Great photos by the way, thx for sharing. I hope my dealer doesn´t have one of the new lenses, I might not be able to resist. andybarton Posted July 14, 2010 Share #11 Posted July 14, 2010 If you are trying to demonstrate what an new lens can do, why add vignetting pp? Kind of defeats the object of the exercise, I'd say. I also note that we now have two similar threads on this subject.
thompsonkirk Posted July 15, 2010 Share #12 Posted July 15, 2010 Agree with Andy – if I bought a lens that vignetted like that, I'd want my money back! Kirk
leicashot Posted July 15, 2010 Share #13 Posted July 15, 2010 Gotta be honest, the use off added vignetting is used for many reasons, usually to make a (excuse me for saying this) somewhat dull image more interesting. It's the color version of converting to black and white.
NB23 Posted July 15, 2010 Share #14 Posted July 15, 2010 The added vignetting in Photoshop is pretty bad.

menos I M6 Posted July 15, 2010 Share #16 Posted July 15, 2010 Jesus...you guys are sensitive. Here are a couple WITHOUT vignetting! /c I think a bit of vignetting would help with the last shots seriously, don't understand the fuzz about the vignetting professors either. There has been a trend of doing some unified high contrast, gritty, strong vignetting shots in the last months, now slightly getting under control. If it works - it works! I like, how especially the last shot turned out - that is quite some thin dof (in a good way) from a 35mm!
