I am thinking of selling mine and wondering where they are all used ? It's the one with the built in hood, uncoded and with a white box. There are none on ebay and none recently sold ? Does anyone have any idea what they sell for. It would appear that prices have gone through the roof since they stopped making them and the 0.95 came out.

any help appreciated

KEH had quite a few last fall in the $4,600 range - and they all sold out, so I guess that was considered a bargain price.

Photo Village is asking $6,995 for a coded late model (can't tell if it is used or old new stock).

That should give you a range.

I think $6995 is for a new one. $4600 sound right for a pre-own but with excellent condition

$5k and under is more realistic these days, even from a retailer.

I bought a coded e60 Noctilux in mint condition last year from Glazer's in Seattle for $4700 and sold the same lens via PopFlash consignment (almost same day) for $5k earlier this year.

I have the last version of the F1 pre-asph nocti. Bought it in mint used condition before the M8 was released and had it coded by Leica when I got the M8. Even with the very steep appreciation it's gone through since then (5K would be the least I'd ask if I were selling, I've been offered that a few times, and I'm embarrassed to say what I paid for it), I can't see ever letting it go, especially given it's performance on the M9. I didn't love it on the M8, both because I want the true 50m FOV with this lens, and because I had trouble nailing focus at F1. I did use it on my film bodies, even got an M3 just to have the highest mag finder to work with it. I wasn't shooting that much film, and considered selling it now and again, but resisted. But now with the M9, I find the lens easy to focus wide open, the drawing of the nocti is wonderful on the M9 just as in film, and I'm just glad I resisted selling it!

That's right about KEH.

Last fall at any one time they had 3 or 4 Noctilux F/1.0 available.

Relative to last fall KEH now has a very limited selection of M lenses of any kind.

I guess with the M9 now in more and more hands demand for used Leica lenses must have increased substantially.

I have bought one from Photo Village last year and suspect it's old New Stock

You're right Adli. Actually, I bought my Nocti on the Bay in Dec 2008. I was patient and managed to get a mint one (but no box and no papers) at 4,200$ if memory serves me correctly. Sent it to Leica for CLA and coding (another 2-300$) and have been happy with it ever since. I guess the key to obtaining a good deal is patience...

I have the first F1.0 Noctilux, with the 58mm filter thread. It didn't come with a lens hood. Does anyone know where I can get one? Thanks Peter

Plastic lens hood #12519 is sometimes available second hand. The plastic cover for the hood is very rare and I was not able to find one. I use just any cap I can find for the 58mm lens and carry the lens hood separately.
